Oxford City Centre is a compact, walkable area. It is characterised by its renowned historic University Colleges such as Christ Church and Magdelan and bordering peaceful parks and meadows. Millions of books are stored in the landmark Bodleian Library. The Ashmolean Museum displays Egyptian mummies, and classical sculptures, while weapons, masks and pottery fill cabinets at Pitt River Museum. The lively streets are filled with shops, restaurants and key areas for shopping which include Queen Street, Cornmarket Street, the Modern Westgate Shopping Centre and food stalls line the historic 18th Century covered Market. Look for the Open top buses which operate around the main areas of Oxford. The Harry Potter film was filmed in Oxford.
