Canterbury, a cathedral city and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Kent, it was a pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages. Ancient walls, originally built by the Romans encircle its medieval centre with cobbled streets and timber framed houses. The cathedral founded in 597 AD incorporates Gothic and Romanesque elements in beautiful stone carvings and stained glass windows.
Being on the River Stour you can relax on a lazy punt or go on a historic boat trip; visit the tranquil park at Westgate Towers Museum which houses a stylish cocktail bar and restaurant in the city former jail. Why not enjoy special afternoon tea at Tiny Tim’s, a quintessential English tearoom and coffee shop set in a beautiful historic building. There is plenty to do and see in Canterbury so do join us on this Spring day trip.
