Food Museum at Stowmarket

Event type: Outing
Date: 8th July 2025

Leader Wendy Black List Opens April/May. Final Payment June.

Come and have a nostalgic look at the past history of food. Do you have good or bad memories of school dinners? The food museum prides itself as a museum dedicated to educating and engaging in how food in the past, and present day, gets to our plates.

The Food Museum is situated in the heart of Suffolk at Stowmarket. It is a Rural 84 acres site that has 17 different heritage buildings, a river walk, as well as a collection of farm animals including the Suffolk Punch Horses. Some things to do on the day, meet the horses, have ago farming /foraging sessions or visit the Dairy, Windmill and Wind Pump.

There are also several scenic areas on site that are different habitats for wildlife. A walled garden, lake woodland and river so plenty of places to picnic or on site is a café serving homemade food and other goodies.
