Strawberry Hill House is a Gothic Revival Villa built in Twickenham by Horace Walpole from 1749 onwards. It is typical of Strawberry Hill architecture and prefigured the 19th century Gothic Revival with towers and battlements outside and elaborate decoration inside, including Walpole’s collection of antiquarian objects including a Robert Adam fireplace. The house is filled with rare paintings, sculptures and furniture.
