Aims and Objectives of the group:

To enjoy the fresh air as we attempt to play a competitive but friendly game of boule.

Any expertise needed:

Not really. Strength to throw a metal ball and a good aim are necessary.

Equipment needed:

The group has all the equipment needed.

Maximum number permitted in the group: 24

Location, day and time of meetings:

First and third Wednesdays each month. Meet at the bandstand in Grove House gardens at 2.00 pm. (if it is raining then, or it has been between 1 and 2 pm - that day is cancelled)

A brief description of a typical meeting:

After registration we collect the equipment from the store and split into 2 teams and commence battle on the lawns nearby.

Always finished by 3.30pm, with the equipment put away.

Weekly scores are computed, and the 3 highest scorers receive prestigious awards at our annual winter meal. During the winter months, when we are unable to play, we keep in touch with a monthly coffee afternoon on the third Wednesday.
