Aims and Objectives of the group:
To learn the various ballroom dances and to keep fit by having fun. We are looking for new members to join us.
Expertise needed:
Knowledge of the basic steps of ballroom and Latin dances. A limited amount of teaching by other members of the group helps to spread expertise. We currently do not have a qualified teacher, but will be very happy to welcome one!
Equipment needed:
None, but comfortable clothes and shoes that will allow a glide – so not rubber soles. A partner is not necessary as some members are willing to learn both male and female parts.
Costs for the hire of the hall will depend on the number of members in the group.
Maximum number permitted in the group: 40
A brief description of a typical meeting:
After registration the session begins with a waltz or other ballroom dance; The session usually goes on through 2 or 3 songs before moving on to the next dance.
Half way through there is a break for tea or coffee and biscuits.
